"There Are No Bad Dogs, Only Poorly Trained Or Untrained Dogs."

Obedience

Teaching your dog how to behave appropriately in everyday situations using voice and hand commands:

Heel
Walking on a loose leash without pulling
Sit
Sit Stay
Down
Down Stay
Come when called
Leave It

Teaches your dog what items are off limits to them
Bring It
Drop It

Instead of chasing your dog around the house to get back the item that they ran off with, you can tell them to "bring it" to you and "drop it" in your hand
Stand Stay
Meeting people properly

Staying seated for petting
Meeting dogs properly
No lunging or pulling toward other dogs

Associating verbal and hand commands with each action allows you to communicate easily with your dog.

You are off to a great start if your dog is doing any or all of these commands. However, the training done through Top Notch K9's is not only commands but it takes all of their commands and applies them to real life situations such as:

Walking by your side no matter what distractions are happening around them (kids, squirrels, neighbors, cars, other dogs, etc.)

Meeting people by patiently sitting and waiting for attention

Meeting other dogs without pulling you towards or away from them

"Stay" in a sit or down until you release them no matter where they are

Taking your dog out in public and staying by your side until released

Taking your dog out of the house should be a fun experience for both you and your dog. If your dog is pulling you down the street or your friends are getting jumped on, this is not a fun experience. It may be time to consider seeking some professional training to end these potentially dangerous behaviors.
