Q: Why can even a well behaved dog benefit from training?
A: No matter how well behaved a dog is, it can always benefit from structured training. Training will break the communication barrier between dogs and their owners. A combination of hand signals and voice command makes it easy to communicate with your dog. Through training, your dog will know exactly what you want of them and carry out any command every time.
Q: What behaviors can training correct?
A: The right training can correct most behaviors such as: Jumping, pulling, digging, destruction, mouthing, house breaking, not following commands, not coming when called, darting through doors, excessive barking, some aggressive behaviors, etc. Bring us your concerns and we will address them appropriately.
Q: Why choose Top Notch K9's?
A: There are a lot of trainers out there but not all are qualified. There are many options out there for training but very few companies are willing to work with your dog as an individual. Not every dog is the same and therefore will not respond to every type of training. We will evaluate your specific dog and use the right style for them. Each style will end with the same excellent results.
Q: Why is Top Notch K9's the best option?
A: Every option has their benefits but they also have their downfalls. With my experience in kennel, pet store, and in-home environments, I have created programs that combine all three methods and eliminate the negatives of each.
Q: How do the programs at Top Notch K9's work?
A: We offer two programs to choose from. We will come into your home on a weekly basis and train your dog for you while including you in the lessons. This also includes lessons on the proper care and correction techniques. You will learn how to work with the dog but most people don't have the time to train their own dog. That is where we come in to do it for you. Depending on how quickly your dog learns, this program can take as little as 6 weeks. The other option is that we can take your dog and train your dog for you in as little as 1 to 2 weeks. Your dog will stay in a home environment and not in a kennel. They will be trained daily and ready to be delivered back to their owner already trained. Upon delivery of your newly trained dog we give handling and care lessons for you so that you know how to work with your dogs new skills.
Q: What happens after the training is complete?
A: We are always here for any follow up that you or your dog needs. The training comes with a formal contract for the life of the dog. Once you are a customer you are also part of the Top Notch K9's family.
