At Top Notch K9’s, our training experience began in 1993. We hold certifications in AKC
Canine Good Citizen and Service Animal Registry of America. Our training comes
with a formal guaranteed contract. We are located in Titusville, FL and serve all of Central Florida.
Creating a well behaved dog is very important but it is also important to create a happy, confident dog. The well being of all dogs is our main priority. Our training methods are positive and praise based. We create a strong bond between the owner and the dog. Your dog will happily work for you because they want to, not because they are being forced. Training time will become a fun and exciting time for you and your dog, while producing an exceptionally well trained member of the family.
Our Methods Treat training only is a form of bribery if there are no corrections are involved. Strictly treat training will build a bond between you and your dog but there will be no respect established. The dog will only work for treats and eventually treats will no longer work.
We specialize in customizing the training program to fit each individual dog. Not every dog can be trained using the same method. There are many methods out there because every dog different. This is why we believe in customizing the training for each individual dog. That is where we come in when other trainers have failed.
There are three methods of dog training: treat, compulsion, and a combination of treat and compulsion. Be leery of a trainer that is only using one or the other.
The most effective trainer is going to combine the treat and compulsion methods to suit the individual dog. When selecting a trainer ask them first what method they use. You want what is best for your specific dog.
Compulsion only will make your dog not want to listen because they are not being rewarded. Not only is there no reward for the dog but there is also no bond being established between the owner and the dog.
Top Notch K9's combine the praise and treat reward with some compulsion. Combining the methods eliminates the negative results of only using one or the other. We build a strong bond between you and your dog and cause your dog to have respect for you at the same time. Our method ensures that your dog wants to work for you because they love and respect you.
